Living our childhood fantasy of being a teddy bear seems to be on trend this season..
I don't know about you but I am LOVING the teddy bear coat atm and what I mean by that is not wearing an actual teddy bear, instead it's wearing the fur of a teddy bear as bad as that sounds!
Real fur has been a very controversial subject the past 10 years or so with lots of fashion houses announcing last year that they were not going to be using real fur anymore - Gucci being the big one (however just something for you to think about, faux fur isn't sustainable but real fur is..) anyway it seems because fur is out of the window and faux fur is in, we seem to be taking the coats off teddy bears and not foxes this season.
The teddy bear coat started becoming a trend late last year but since January it now is everywhere, including on my back! I got my teddy bear coat from H&M in December and barely wear another coat atm - haha barely or 'bearly'.. you get it? lol .
I personally believe the teddy bear coat started with Max Mara's teddy bear coat (first image above) which was seen on the likes of Kim Kardashian in 2013 so 5 years later here we are with the teddy bear coat being a trend.
The teddy bear coat is basically the material that is being used, yet the style of the coats range from a biker jacket, denim style jacket, long coat or even dressing gown coat. I think it is a great piece to make a statement on an outfit in a subtle way and it is ofcourse cosy. You can wear the teddy coat casually or even over a dress, it really is versatile. I have been wearing mine for nearly 3 months now and everywhere I turn I see so many similar teddy bear coats, however as Spring is approaching (or not as it is sub 0 degrees in London atm and snowing might I add) I wonder how long the teddy bear will last.
Here are some great high street teddy bear style coats.
