This is the end product of my final contents page for my magazine, it was inspired by a festival lineup sheet I saw therefore that is why it is colourful, why I used lots of typography and is a bit all over the place but that was done on purpose.

 

I created three boxes for each category with the category title on top, so it was clear for the reader to see what is what. In the beginning I used lots of different typographys however in the end I settled on using less but changing the boldness and size, in addition I used different typography for each category title and all the festivals - I really wanted the festival names to look fun, graphic and interesting, some may say it is a bit too much but that is the whole point! 

 

My magazine masthead and the date are on the top in the middle therefore they stand out but aren't too big so don't take away from the rest of the content. Along with all that the imagery I used are quite simple but strong images and they are in black and white so they stand out against all the colour of the boxes. The colours of the boxes are somewhat close to the colours on my front cover image - which was done on purpose - so that the whole magazine flows. Then at the bottom is a big black box which is a competition and as it is black with white writing it stands out a lot as I wanted it too! 

 

Overall I believe the contents page fits the theme of festivals and looks like a festival lineup sheet which is exactly what I was going for so I am glad of the outcome.
