EVALUATION
So overall I took a big and long process to achieve the best cover, double page spread and contents I could for my magazine! I was able to achieve all of this because I did a lot of primary reasearch into the technical aspects - mastheads, typography, magazine covers, imagery, colours, distribution etc it really helped me know what I needed to follow and what worked well!
After doing research I had to consider what path I wanted to take with my own magazine especially the theme - I ended up chosing festival because I didn't want to do the typical commercial magazine, I wanted to do something much more arty and indie and just have fun with it! I spent a lot of time looking through images for inspiration especially for my cover image and decided upon throwing powder paint everywhere and all over my model and fortunately for me it worked out great and I had so much fun doing it too! Not only did I take pictures I pushed myself further and recorded a video of the process, edited it and added music.
Out of everything creating the actually magazine was the hardest part because it takes a lot of time, consideration and sometimes things don't look good or work or even don't come out how you envisioned so you may have to start over! I ended up with a final design but then actually changed it before I achieved the full final outcome I now have! In addition making sure I was on top of my website and reasearching took a while but out of all of it I created something I am proud of and learnt a lot doing it, definately from reading another well known magazine's information - my case study - that really opened my eyes and made me really see what goes into making a magazine - which is a lot!
